SIC BO

An ancient Chinese game, Sic Bo translates as 'Dice Pair', and is often seen as a similar game to Craps. Certainly if you enjoy playing Craps, then you will enjoy Sic Bo. It's a game of chance, where three dice are shaken, and the aim of the game is to predict what numbers, or group of numbers will be rolled.

Table layouts vary in style from casino to casino, the table here is at 32Red, but the priciples are the same wherever you play. Like Craps, there is a wide range of betting options, with payouts ranging from Evens up to 180 to 1, and you can place several wagers at once, to hedge your bets.

There are seven main bet variations -

- Bet on a number 1 to 6. If it is rolled on any dice, you win at 1 to 1. If that number appears on 2 dice, get 2 to 1, and if it appears on all three, get a 3 to 1 payout.

- Combination of 2 numbers bet, for example, 2 and 4. If they are rolled, you get a 5 to 1 payout.

- Bet on the total sum of all 3 dice, from 4 to 17. Depending on the number chosen, payout ranges from 6 to 1, up to 50 to1.

- 'Big' or 'Small' bet. Perhaps the most common, you decide the numbers rolled will add up to between 4 to 10, (Small), or from 11 TO 17, (Big). Payout is at 1 to 1.

- Triple Bet. Bet that a particular triple, such as 3 sixes will be rolled. This gives you a 180 to 1 payout.

- Bet that any triple will be rolled for a 24 to 1 payout.

- Any Pair bet. Chose any pair, such as 2 fives, for an 8 to 1 payout.

When you have decided on what bet you are going to make, it's a simple matter of placing your chips on the designated section, and clicking 'Roll'.

Sic Bo Strategies

Like most casino games, there are numerous systems and strategies to make the game more exciting, and improve your chances of winning. Here are a few of the most popular -

- Place equal bets on two of the boxes from 4 to 17. You get a 6 to 1 payout, an average of 1 roll in 7.

- If 2 of the dice roll 1's, the total result will have to be between 3 and 8. You can, therefore, bet that the total will be more than 8, and at the same time bet on a double 1, hedging your bets. In the same way, if two of the dice roll 6's, the total will have to be over 13. So bet on double 6's, and a result less than 13.

- To win multiple bets on a roll, place your bets on the middle numbers, 8, 9, 12, and 13.

If you bet on 8, also bet on double 1, 2, and 3

If you bet on 9, also bet on double 2, 3, and 4

If you bet on 12, also bet on double 3, 4, and 5

If you bet on 13, also bet on double 4, 5, and 6.

This way, you can win several small bets in one roll, if any double is rolled.
